Story Box *(Aust Pub)
Story Box is a fabulous new resource that supports narrative therapy. It provides the teacher with a set of materials which support a student's narrative skills in three ways.
1. It uses a 'box' theme to make story structure more concrete and explicit for children 2. The boxes can be used as 3D, visual and tactile prompts for narrative development 3. The language process works from establishing the story idea, adding the structure of beginning - middle - end, and demonstrates the type of language features required in a narrative.
The resource is made up of more than thirty sequencing picture sets which are provided as black line masters for easy photocopying. Simple daily living activities are represented, as well as a few sequences that are more creative - such as a treasure dive or a trip to the moon.
Also there is a set cube nets which depict narrative structure, top level text structure, language features of a story and story questions that can be associated with each step of a story.
The materials are clearly presented, appealing and well suited to children from early childhood to upper primary school.
