The Phonics Handbook is divided into two parts.
Part one serves to support the teacher / parent by providing an introduction which explains the five key skills for reading writing and language and how to teach them. This section is subdivided into the following five parts:
1. Learning the Letter Sounds
2. Learning Letter Formation
3. Blending - for reading
4. Identifying the Sounds in Words - for writing
5. Tricky Words - irregular words
Part two provides the materials used to implement the teaching:
